  GE Cup Boulogne

I've just come across this rather nice picture on a French cyclecar forum which looks like the prototype Cup recently discussed here. Has anyone seen it before? Presumably the start of the race.

Improving feet space in a Special
Posted by: Paul Nott - 10-01-2019, 08:11 AM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (12)

Hi All
Trying to fit my size 10's around the brake and accelerator pedals is a challenger.
I have noticed some Specials/Ulsters have a bulge plate added to the bodywork, does anybody know where I can purchase.
Any other ideas would be welcome.

On a different subject my car has a Zenith 26 VME carburettor fitted, unfortunately the copper fuel inlet pipe which has to bend 180 degrees has been kinked. Question is can these be purchased from a supplied or do I have to attempt to make myself ?
Many thanks.

  Austin valve removal tool probs...
Posted by: JonE - 09-01-2019, 11:10 PM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (8)

trying to remove valves, and the little Austin tool managed one but I notice the screw thread isn't completely parallel to valve stem, and is difficult to screw down once tension starts.
Is there anything I'm doing wrong, or do the tools distort over time and thus become ineffective?
It is collets on this one... is there something I am meant to do in prep before putting the tool end on to the end of the valve spring holder thing?
thanks

  NIPPY DOOR OPENING.
Posted by: Rpm - 09-01-2019, 06:17 PM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (13)

Hi All, may I first wish everyone involved with this site a very happy new year.
Would like to enquire if there is any written measurements of the Nippy door opening , for example if the door was taken off what gap should you have, top middle and bottom.
Wonder if someone with good door alignment  could measure thiers. I need to determine a car I may look at with view of buying, has sag or worn hinges. Any help would be appreciated.
With warm regards
Rob

Posted by: JonE - 07-01-2019, 10:42 PM - Forum: Sales - Replies (2)

good clean condition; top and bottom have not been refaced - still have number stamps. No cracks around the cylinders or water holes. Bores are 2.20 but needs honing at least... some rougher areas where surface rust was. Core plugs removed.
Acid stripped and bare.
Just found a crack linking to the lower water outlet. May be longstanding but someone may be able to assure themselves it's useful, (perhaps for its serial number).
Numbered block...  1932 ish? (later type core plugs)
£25. pm for photos.
