HX4683 |

Is HX4683 still out there? This car holds a lot of memories for me as it belonged to one of my teachers, Tony Dixon, who used her as every day transport back in the late 70’s. Tony Dixon sparked my interest in vintage cars, including Austin 7’s. It seems that HX was still around up until about 2006 according to DVLA and previous attempts to find her suggested that she was owned by a 750 Club member. I wonder if she is still owned by the family. Any information or a picture would be welcome!

Good evening all,
Can someone please tell me when shell bearings for big ends came in. My engine no is
M278745 and I should like to know whether it’s a late enough engine to be fitted with shells.
Thanks,

H1 SU versus Ruby Zenith sidedraft |

Was reading on old forum thread on the H1 SU and I've seen various people rave about them. But does the 1" H1 yield anything powerwise over the Ruby 17mm Zenith for cars which are already converted from the 15mm updraft?
Someone then mentioned that ALL the parts/bodies are still available from Burlen. I see the body is just over 250 quid now. Has anyone actually gone down the route of pricing up a new one rather than fiddling around restoring an ebay purchase with broken this and worn that...?

The late John Miles wrote a series of 3 articles on his recent Ulster build for the 750 Bulletin back in 2012. I have parts one and three but am missing the second part, published in April 2012. I'm sure that I did have it but can't find it now (just when I want it!)
Will some kind soul please scan it for me and send it to Charles@littlewrongs.org.uk
Thanks

The importance of crack testing |

I have a lot of parts here I need to report the crack testing on for Geoff.
But I though I would bring this one to everyone's attention.
Sorting some parts out for a customer for spring beaulieu, I always crack test stub axles befor I sell them.
And this is why, it's only the start. I've seem them far far worse.

[attachment=2718]
Please excuse the mess on the bench, it's a result of to much work. And no time to tidy.
[attachment=2719]
This is the magnet I use, it's from a magnetic base to hold a gauge on the lathe.

These are the crack test tins.
I do two light coats of the White for background.
Sit the item for crack test on an angle, and give it a good spray with the black. After the can is well shaken.
Tony.
Well,
I've had a cup of tea.
Gone back out to get on with the beaulieu orders.
And here is the next stub axle, again ive seen worse. But we are now two tested, two cracked.

Checking chassis |

Hello
I would like to check my chassis for damage.
My main concern is alignment (is it bent)
Any advice would be welcome.
I wondered about placing the car on the floor (new flat finish) and constructing
lines to check wheels for true ?
Regards
Tim
