  Coventry Climax manifold plates
Posted by: Rhysn - 21-01-2018, 12:22 PM - Forum: Sales - No Replies

I am not sure if the above is allowed here, however, I had several sets of water jet cut plates made for 750 Climax motors when I built mine back in NZ. These are made from thick steel to allow for fabrication of inlet and exhaust manifolds. They come with matching gaskets.

  Original fan belts
Posted by: Erich - 21-01-2018, 06:45 AM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (7)

There is a 1927 Chummy for sale here in the Seattle area. It sounds like a later engine(coil not mag). Apparently there is deposit from someone in the UK,so the car may be going back. The owner said that when he got the car, it had a leather belt pulling the fan, the belt falling off when the joint fixing failed. Were leather belts originally fitted to early cars?

Best,

Erich

  Ulster details/Photographs
Posted by: Athanasius Santamaria - 21-01-2018, 12:48 AM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (39)

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share some photos of original ulsters under construction/restoration/or in one piece. Any viewpoint wanted but I am specifically looking for photos to do with all aspects of the body and floor pan/firewall/boot/foot well. Ie floor corners, rivet details, swages and folds. This is for reference to construction methods and details. Any visual Information would be much appreciated... the more details I have the better (rivet counter syndrome). I understand this is a bit of an ask and some people may not want to share pictures for privacy and copyright reasons, but thought I would ask anyway. You can always email me or private message me.

Cheers folks.

uncoupled brake balancing - old forum thread
Posted by: JonE - 20-01-2018, 10:56 PM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (17)

Trying to interrogate the old forum is difficult as there are some gems, but the images are now often missing. Rob Beck posted this in a discussion about coupled and uncoupled brakes in 2012. If Rob still tunes in or if others have adopted, please would you post a picture of give a better description of what is done please? It seemed to attract brownie points in the thread.

quote was...

"split brakes
Here is a mod i am pleased with... Balanced rear brakes achieved by using a single cable passing through the cross shaft. You cant do this to the later cross shafts with concentric tubes."

  Re-Sleeve block and large valves
Posted by: Robbie.watson@uk.bp.com - 20-01-2018, 07:48 PM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (3)

Hi all
In the process of building up a new engine for the special and think I need to sleeve the block. Can anyone recommend anyone that can do this at a reasonable cost? Thinking of putting the larger valves in too so any advice on suppliers that can cut the seats etc would be great!

Looking for rear wings for my 1933 RP. Not bothered about a bit of rust  but I need them to be in good shape - my existing ones are bent and broken beyond repair.

  Door Retainers/Supports
Posted by: Matt_Harnden - 20-01-2018, 06:22 PM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (8)

Hi Everyone,

I’ve just posted a ‘Wants’ advert on this site but I also need your help with a photo.

Could someone with a Ruby, Opal or Pearl please post a photo of how this part is supposed to be installed?

(Also I’m looking for a pair if these or just the rod parts as I have both triangular plates)

Thanks.

Hi All,

I’m looking for a pair of Ruby/Opal/Pearl door supports like the ones in the photo. I would also be happy just to have the rod parts as I have the two triangular plates.

If anyone has any then please get in touch.

Many thanks!

Matt
