Global fame! I can feel it going to my head already!

I had no idea that Shed of the Year was going to reach so far, Bob.

As for "Easy-Start"......Wonderful stuff!

  Rebore on a mini-lathe!!!

Hi All

I'm beginning to look for a smallish and cheapish lathe. Several Drummond round bed lathes have come to my attention. They are early 1900s mini-lathes. I think they are too old for my use but what surprised me most was the reference to reboring an Austin Seven block on one!

  Brake Lights
Posted by: David.H - 05-12-2018, 05:31 PM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (9)

With brakes that are not (inter) connected! is it better to fit a brake light switch to the foot or hand brake? (or one to each? - that is getting a bit complicated for my lack of wiring skills.
My thinking is just to the footbrake as that is the "natural" brake & if you are hauling on the hand brake then the foot pedal will probably be on anyway!
Can anyone put up a simple wiring diagram for adding a brake switch please? I have nothing at the moment on the '27 Chummy nor the '29 RK!

  SMOKERS' HATCHES

Going a bit off subject, but re the smoker's hatch - mine is gone also.  I keep looking at the framing where it should be and have muttered about trying to make one.  All listeners to that have looked at me sideways and tapped the side of their head knowingly.  Am I mad to try?  I've only seen a few photos of them and they do seem to be a bid fiddly to make.  Maybe I should start a new discussion on this..

Discussion now starting!

What info do you have on smokers' hatches, Graham?  We've have two or three enquiries about them in the last couple of years, so it would be nice to be able to offer a passable solution.  Do you (or anyone else) know whether the smokers' hatches fitted to other "standard" saloon models were identical units?

  RN/RP door trim plates
Posted by: Dave Mann - 04-12-2018, 07:52 AM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (12)

.jpg   Standard door trim.jpg (Size: 103.7 KB / Downloads: 340) This is for Graham as I don't seem to be able to post photos on private messages. As far as I'm aware the standard RN saloon (and the RP?) didn't  have the trim plate behind the door grab handle, as shown in the attached photo. The standard models also lacked the sunshine roof fitted to the de lux model and the RP standard saloon had a smoker' hatch.

I thought I had a spare CWP set to assist in rebuilding my back axle, but as it turns out, the pinion shaft is about 2" longer than for a 7. Part number partially visible...

Anyone know what they are for... And if so who might like them?
