Martin I appear to have received a spoof email from you which suggests it may have been hacked.  Apologies if you have already been told.

  nut plates source
Posted by: Erich - 12-04-2018, 04:58 PM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (7)

Hi All,

I have several nut plates (2BA) riveted to the bulkhead of my Ulster Rep. They are used to hold down the panel at the starter. Does anyone have a source for these in 2BA as well as 1/4 Whitworth?

  dizzy gear wear
Posted by: ollyS - 12-04-2018, 11:52 AM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (7)

This is more of interest as I have now replaced both dizzy gear and have new dynamo. I have just swapped my dynamo for a rebuild unit and found some interesting wear on the dizzy gear.
Any one explain what may have caused this level of wear.

  Sales & Wants
Posted by: Chris KC - 12-04-2018, 11:50 AM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (13)

Just wondering out loud, but is it perhaps possible to format the sales & wants pages on this site in a slightly more user-friendly way?

The running thread style works OK for technical discussions etc. and there is value in being able to search back through old topics.

For sales and wants however, old posts - and indeed recent ones which have been 'closed' - are simply a waste of time for everyone who looks through them. Ideally they would be taken down when the item is obtained or sold, but this would rely on all members diligently removing them once fulfilled. Expire them, or oblige the poster to refresh them, after a month perhaps? Then at least the majority of ads displayed will be open offers or requests.

I can imagine some may reply simply don't look at old pages - however when you're not finding what you want you inevitably start trawling back through old ads to see if anything is still on offer.

Hi All
As the a7ca have had there AGM and 4 monthly meeting, are the InnerSanctum going to LEAK to us mere members of the A7CA, why they sacked the editor (Les Gamon) ?

Austin Atlantic Green RAL codes and new 1932 Belco info
Posted by: JonE - 11-04-2018, 08:43 AM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (8)

The story has advanced a bit and the two lines of enquiry have come up with neighbouring RAL codes, so I think we are pretty nearly there. The Austin 10 Drivers Club are working on a publication to interpret their copies of the 1932 colour cards into modern paint code equivalents. Still need to find a 65 which has Atlantic Green paint remains...

A pal of mine, a non-Forum member, has been trying to get in touch with Dave Wilkinson of Southern Sevens but has been unable to make contact for a few weeks. Does anyone know if Dave is about?

  Peter Field contact?
Posted by: JonE - 10-04-2018, 02:31 PM - Forum: Forum chat... - No Replies

I'm trying to trace a car as a result of someone posting an old photo on Facebook. Chris Gould mentioned it used to be owned by Peter Field, ex-W.Sussex who perhaps moved to Kent. He is no longer with London club. Can anyone give me a contact or send me a message that might give me a lead?
thanks Jon

  Oops on crank case
Posted by: Erich - 10-04-2018, 04:33 AM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (23)

As some of you may know, I bought an Ulster Rep. in 2016, with a Pettit body and a Pigsty engine. I received it here in the US after much work. I have now found that the off side bolt of the starter mount (1930 post bacon slicer but still rear  mounted)has blown out. I have now heard that 12 volt is not advised because of this issue. I need a new crankcase. But should I convert from 12 volt to 6 volt? I have heard that 12 volt puts unnecessary stress on the mount because of the stress when the starter engages.
