Austin Seven parts that will fit Rosengart LR4? |

Hi
My name is Michael, I'm from Tiel (The Netherlands) and I'm new here on this forum.
I've just struck a deal on a Rosengart LR42N cabriolet (more about that in due time) but during my search for a nice and not too expensive pre war car with mechanicals I can understand to a certain level (the Rosengart is not my first classic but it is my first kinda vintage one), I've been wondering if and if so what Austin 7 parts will fit a Rosengart LR4 without of with little modification (i.e. cylinder head; intake and exhaust manifolds, double valve springs, remote gearchange, remote oil filter kit, Hardy Spicer prop shaft with UJ's etc) .
Yes I'm aware of the Imperial versus metric threads involved but that is not my issue; (new) Rosengart parts tend to be quite expensive in France so if I can keep the budget down by using Austin 7 parts in some areas.....well... think I've made my point.
I've already seen some posts here by Rosengart owners who obviously have been confronted by the same and similar matters and questions so is there anybody out there who has a list of 'interchangeable' Austin 7 parts both with or without the mods necessary to fit a Rosengart?
I've already queried one of the better known Austin 7 parts supplying specialists but he could not be conclusive in any way .....
Bye for now....
Michael

A friend of my daughter is getting married in April next year at a venue near Cambridge. She would like an Austin 7 as a wedding car as her dad used to have one and she remembers being driven in it. She is having difficulty in finding someone to provide an Austin 7. Is there anybody out there in A7 land who would be prepared to help out. Please PM or 'e' mail me if you can help. Side Curtains ....fixings |

My 1932 AG tourer (SWB chassis with steel "chummy" body) has side curtains that slot into the alloy rail that runs along the top of the doors & rear tub. the pegs of the curtain drop into the holes and into a bracket let into the wood. This bracket is tapped 1/4 BSF presumably to take a winged bolt (??) that is tightened against the peg to stop the curtain rattling or popping out.
Question is what do these retaining 1/BSF bolts look like & what do the holes in the trim panels look like? Is there an eyelet of some sort?
I have not seen anything (not even on a £38000 Chummy), maybe earlier bodies allowed the curtains to rattle!
I can post pictures of the bracket if necessary.
The quite useable trim on my car is 1960's vintage & has no holes/eyelet or whatever. How should it be fitted to the door frame etc? I am rebuilding the car to how it would have probably been in Hong Kong in the early 70's.

Seeking advice regarding chrome platers please. Happy to consider all recommendations but is there a reliable company in the London, Home Counties or East Anglia area that anyone would recommend?
Thanks, John

This interesting and stunning Austin Seven Special is based on an Austin 7 Chassis from 1930. The styling is related to racecars such as Amilcar, Bugatti and others. There is an extensive english race history from Silverstone, Donnington and Wiscombe Park, before the car was sold to California, USA in 1990. The new owner, Dr. Greg Johnson invested lots of money to get the car perfectly restored to an outstanding level and used the racer at Monterey, Laguna Seca and other events. He also took the car to Pebble Beach, California and won first prize in his class at the world famous Concours de`Elegance.
In 2004 the car was sold by a wellknown auctioneer to a collector in Germany. The actual owner did recently a big service and small repairs and upgrades. Included in the package are some spare engines, special tools and gearboxes as well as a set of wire wheels. The documented history includes articles in SPORTS CAR INTERNTIONAL oct.1995 and BRITISH CAR april 2001.
A special technical report from 2012 decribes and explaines the mechanical specification and upgrades. This beautiful monoposto racer has German ownership papers and is located in my showroom in Muenster, Germany.

Windscreen Wiper Vacuum tube |

Can anyone tell me how the rubber vacuum tube for the windscreen wiper motor on a 1927 chummy was routed and supported. I have two versions of the Lucas motor --one with the vac connection on the driver's side and one with the vac connection on the passenger side--which one is correct?
