  Torque tube replacement
Posted by: David Kanally - 09-08-2017, 12:43 AM - Forum: Forum chat... - No Replies

After an extended period of delinquency, I have successfully replaced the torque tube on my '33 RP Saloon.  Looking forward to putting on some Texas miles this fall!

This repair was facilitated in large measure by Ruairidh, to whom I am grateful.  Smile

I just noticed that with the starting of the new Forum, I'm a junior member with zero reputation.  Both of these things are flattering.  I have not been a junior member of anything in decades, and let's just say, my reputation is somewhere other than zero.  Cool

  Inspection

Newby to the forum...

Considering the purchase of an Austin 7 Ruby Mk 1 (1935 (BZ 3006)) as a first Classic.  Wondering where to start in terms of having it inspected / what due diligence is necessary?  I'd be willing to spend on worthwhile improvements / maintenance.  Car is currently in North East England.

As a novice to old car ownership I'm unaware of the maintenance, but I'm "handy".  Would hope to cover 5k a year as a second / weekend motor.

Appreciate any advice, thanks in advance!

Karl

I don't know if anyone else has seen this in the top corner, but it could be a good feature for raising awareness of upcoming events and finding events to attend locally or further afield.
I have added an event post for Brooklands reunion this Sunday to see how it works.
I decided to put the county first, then the event title, then the time it is on from/until in the title and a description and link to the Brooklands museum page for the event. I did it this way so that it is quick to see if an event is in your area.
If you like the idea, please add any events that you are going to or know of locally. You can also let people know if your club has an event that others are welcome at or if you are travelling to another area and looking to meet some 'locals' while there.

  Ulster Tail Light Wiring
Posted by: Chris KC - 08-08-2017, 07:27 PM - Forum: Forum chat... - Replies (7)

OK here's a question folks - anyone know what was the original route the 'Ulster' tail lamp wiring took through the car body/ frame? I did a walk around at Beaulieu and saw quite a few variations. Pics of VE4492 in Chris Gould's book show it (them) running along the interior of the floor precariously near to the occupants' feet? Just curious.

Thanks
Chris
