My Ruby a non runner came with a low compression head.
I have read a few posts regarding improvements by fitting a high compression head.
Any comments

The Glasses book is around to date registrations of 1929 cars onwards.
Does anyone know whether there is another publication that covers the earlier ones please? Or if not what resources have this information, if any?
thanks Jon

Hello people
Anyone got any details for the C35M dynamo.
In particular the electrical connections.
Or any other info.
Woodrow brushes seem different to mine.
I have a case with field coils from a C35A are these the same ?
Also I think Woodrow shows a felt seal
Not fitted to mine or obvious place to fit ?
Regards
Tim

Cadmium plating? |

Can anyone confirm the correct finish for the starter motor casing on a 3-bearing engine. Rinsey Mills book says cadmium plating which sounds plausible. If so, any recommendations? A Google search brings up lots of platers but no-one advertising cadmium.
Peter.

Nippy rear springs |

I have a pair of (as described to me) "new Nippy springs".
They have been fitted to a Ruby, to lower the suspension, but the car has never run anywhere with the springs.
Then it became an "abandoned project", left in a garage for several years.
The springs have a little surface rust where they project from the chassis, the ends inside the chassis were covered in grease and do indeed look new.
6 leaves and a packing piece, and about 2.5 inches of camber.
I don't need a new pair of Nippy springs, but I do need a pair of new or very good secondhand springs for a low chassis LWB tourer.
Money or swap - anyone interested? If not, I will put them on an auction site.
Simon

Ring-a-ding crankshaft |

Would any kind soul be able to post a brief video that demonstrates the sort of sound one might find trying to make a crankshaft ring after being hit? Not exactly NDT Science but I have several old cranks here and I noticed they all sound the same with neither a Crystal Wineglass ring nor a dull thud. All cracked or all good? Dinggggg, Dangg or Donk? I have an excess of old blocks and crankcases that I need to sort through and am not sure if anything is really worth hanging onto.
Thanks.
Rob
