For recovering the start of threads damaged by impact etc.

Harsh Ruairidh... but fair and well deserved...

That looks like a top bit of kit... I recon it would be good for sharpening your crayons too (just don't show it to the Rabbi)

Handy yes, how much is it? the eBay link didn't work for me. I tend to use an electric file and thread restorer but for studs in situ this would be easier.

THREAD FILE

These are very good. Ideal for axle ends and hub puller threads.

Rory this is a deburring tool, it does not recover threads. You can do the same thing with a file, or bench grinder. I expect you already have thread file which is ideal for restoring and repairing threads
