Uniburr thread recovery tool... - Ruairidh Dunford - 15-01-2018 For recovering the start of threads damaged by impact etc. Does anyone have experience of using them? https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Uniburr-Plus-Ex...Sw~otWc3Tq https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2C8CqmjKov4 RE: Uniburr thread recovery tool... - Nick Lettington - 15-01-2018 Will it be any good for recovering threads from the old forum Ruairidh? RE: Uniburr thread recovery tool... - Ruairidh Dunford - 15-01-2018 Only if you use it very slowly and keep your cool Nick. RE: Uniburr thread recovery tool... - Nick Lettington - 15-01-2018 Harsh Ruairidh... but fair and well deserved... That looks like a top bit of kit... I recon it would be good for sharpening your crayons too (just don't show it to the Rabbi) RE: Uniburr thread recovery tool... - Ruairidh Dunford - 15-01-2018 Shhhh - nobody knows about my Crayons Nick! RE: Uniburr thread recovery tool... - Duncan Grimmond - 15-01-2018 Handy yes, how much is it? the eBay link didn't work for me. I tend to use an electric file and thread restorer but for studs in situ this would be easier. RE: Uniburr thread recovery tool... - Mike Costigan - 15-01-2018 Amazon has got them at £50 for the standard tool, and £69 for the 'Plus' version: https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=uniburr&tag=googhydr-21&index=aps&hvadid=196742906614&hvpos=1t1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17332320544356137261&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=e&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006821&hvtargid=kwd-295260155422&ref=pd_sl_25s6tlmh1c_e_p28 RE: Uniburr thread recovery tool... - Rob Beck - 15-01-2018 THREAD FILE These are very good. Ideal for axle ends and hub puller threads. You can do the same thing with a file, or bench grinder. I expect you already have thread file which is ideal for restoring and repairing threads RE: Uniburr thread recovery tool... - Ruairidh Dunford - 15-01-2018 Do you have experience of using the tool Zeto? It looks to be most useful, |
