Hi Nick
I’ve just spent ages looking for exactly the same thing!
Thanks Ruairidh for the link, from which I found the proper name for them “gravelly catches” and bought a pair off eBay for £11.50. Not sure what the quality will be like.
Cheers
Howard

You may find that the difference is between chrome-plated die-cast "metal" and solid brass at that price difference?
Cynic? moi?...As if!
I'd whittle my own from a brass stick if I needed them but who would pay £25.00 each?(un-plated at that!)

I rather like the type of catch referred to as a throw over catch. Complete Automobilist do a version, at the anticipated price. They put me in mind of some sash window catches, for example
eBay item number:
232287713502
Very few of these are handed but it looks as though the item I refer to might be.
Just a thought.
Regards,
Stuart

Look good Jon. I feel I could use a pair for the Top Hat. I just don't trust flimsy suicide doors.....
