Mystery Car
#1
This photo appeared on a Facebook group I follow.  I think it looks like a Box Saloon and is right hand drive, but can anyone suggest in which country it has been registered?

Looks like the registration number is Austrian (A = Vienna). These were originally black lettering on a white background, changed to white on black as here in May 1930. The left-hand front wing would suggest an RL or early RM saloon, supported by the colour scheme.

I'd wondered about Raj-era India - letters smaller than numbers seem to have been a feature of Indian registrations until relatively recently.

Not sure how bad the accident was but it looks to be RHD?

Has anyone seen a left-hand drive RM?

Many European countries including Italy and the countries of the old Austro-Hungarian Empire drove on the left until the late 1930s (Lancia, for example, didn't build any left-hand drive cars until 1953).
