Introduction, Belgian Ulster rep

I have an Ulsteroid built on what was originally a late Ruby chassis, with the very first of the Gould GRP bodies. The chassis is shortened, and slightly widened at the rear to allow the fitting of a late axle. The Ruby chassis extensions are retained in modified form to support the back of the body. I use a late type two-bearing engine and four speed gearbox with straight cut close ratio primary gears from Keith Rawson. I am running on 15" wheels. I can give details and pictures of specific parts of the car if you need a clue about how to do certain things. Of course most such cars have their own individual combination of parts and modifications, and the engine I use is based on my own ideas, but I find it quite satisfactory. Ask any questions you want, and I may be able to give answers to some of them. After 16 years I am still changing things. Good luck.

No, Grand Prix Retro d'Yvois at Carignan 2015. Quite a good event, but there are some horribly bumpy bits on the street circuit.

Robert, what make are the wings on your car? I have what look like the same ones on my Ulster Rep. I was told by the previous owner that they were made by an Austin specialist who is now passed away.

I have no pictures of the chassis (the body was already fitted when I bought the car, but it was incomplete in many other respects). I will take some pictures in the next few days.

I have no idea what make the wings are. When I got the car the fronts were fitted and painted, but the rears were not. They are quite strong, being made of steel; I suspect that they may be trailer mudguards, the rears being original length and the fronts shortened. They are welded to the brackets which are square tube at the front and strip steel at the back.
