REBUILDING 19” SOLID CENTRE SCRIPT WHEELS

I ask as I am in custody of a growing pile of rattling / rusty rimmed 18" & 19" wheels that I'd like to start using.

Austin,
Richard Bros charged me 75 pounds each for the rims and 45 pounds for the spoke and nipple set each to do one rim.

I see they are now offering new wheel centers both script and open for the early 19" rims

I'd just like to say that after shying away from re-spoking a few broken spokes on a solid centre wheel because of reading somewhere how someone had said "one can never undo the old spokes"... AND finding that one needs to undo others to get the new ones in, the niggling fear was completely unfounded. With heat from the kitchen brulee torch, the old ones I needed to move temporarily were, frankly, quite easy to unscrew.

I'm actually quite enjoying heating up the others, cleaning them off a bit so you can see the brass again, and giving them a tighten.

So if you have never done it before like me, embrace the job!
