Brake shoe crack
#11
Recently, I've had all my linings bonded on by Saftech. Of course, it's more expensive - £65 including UK post, packing, and VAT for four shoes - but they are often returned within a couple of days. I sent one set last Monday, and they arrived back on Wednesday. Just tell them not to grind the edges, or your 1.25-inch shoes will eventually end up at 1 inch.

Saftech do currently seem to be wholly reliable, this from a happy customer with no other connections.

Hi Both
I’ve used Saftek in the past but find they do tend to squeal and IMHO don’t stop quite as well. Hornets nest just well and truly stirred.

Cheers

Have just treated our Ruby (BFJ) to a set of Saftek linings. Posted out Monday for next day delivery and they arrived back this morning by DHL. £130 for the set inclusive of VAT and return postage.
Fitted them this afternoon and have just come back from a test drive. Quite an improvement!

I've just scrapped two aluminium brake shoes on the tourer, one was missing the spring lug the other was like that in Steve's photo with the lining holding the two bits together.

If you live anywhere near Arlesey in the Hitchin area, these people are particularly good...

When you arrive, the premises may leave you a little 'underwhelmed', but the service is excellent. I highly recommend them...
