#1
Just for Howard...

This is a recurring style of bumpers that appears in the photos I am currently working on...

Chrome Rad. Austin 10s have bumpers just like that.

Thanks Hugh

I assume these are Austin originals?

I think that is a fair assumption. Howard, As Ruairidh says, they are fitted to Austin 10s and I have other photos in the collection (of 7s) I am dealing with that are identical. The evidence is perhaps just a little too strong..

We have discussed bumpers before https://www.austinsevenfriends.co.uk/for...=argentina

I believe the build record for the Argentina car survives, quoting bumpers fitted, in which case the factory ones were a single fluted blade, not the double one seen in this photo; these are probably the Wilmot Breedon accessory, although the distinctive WB logo in the centre is not visible, so maybe another supplier?

Hi Mike

I’d completely forgotten this thread.  I would agree that single leaf bumpers are most likely to be Austin fittings.

Cheers

Hugh the bumper on CG4393 is certain to be made by Elephant Motors, it has the rectangular brass badge with elephants head motif.
The picture of JD4256 shows a taller bumper badge with tapered ends, possibly Wilmot Breeden.
