As long as a stud isn't chewed up or used in a critical area there is no reason whatsoever why it can't be reused.

In most cases I would have though the main reason to remove a stud is to replace it?
I don't generally go to all that trouble just to put worn old parts back in again - not nuts and bolts at any rate. I do however gather reasonably sound used fasteners in a bucket for 'times of need'... |
