One more for the road

Looking at the "before" pics I suspect your car was probably a "Standard" saloon, judging by the monochrome paint colour, the missing door cappings, the door cards and the filled roof panel, but who knows. Even in the 1970s the car was already 40 years old so had probably been "done up" several times from its original format.

Whatever, it looks very nice. Well done. Hope you get the back end sorted.

Thanks for the comments.  It was a standard export model, and may have had painted headlights.  It was hand painted black, but I did find some original blue hidden in corners. The door cards in the as bought pictures are replacements, and so I made new ones.  Not realising that standard cars had simple door cards, I made ones that suit a deluxe model.
So it is somewhat a hybrid, as shown in the photo below.
