The Wonder Book of Motors
#2
When I was a child books were much more expensive and less available than today. I spent hours perusing my fathers old books which incuded The Wonder Book of Railways, a pre WW1 edition, of Aircraft, during or just post WW1, of The Wild, of Why and What. I would instantly recognise any of the photos today.
From the little girl's intact bonnet the speeds may not match the drawing. The owner of a light open Austin sports 20, early 1920s, reports that Sevens can overtke on hills as once in a lower gear hard to change up.
The 4 whweel brakes on the light car are modestly sized.
Now the children would more likely be giving the fingers.
