Of the four timing/magneto drive gears taken off the 1925 crankcase, two are in excellent condition. However, the other two, as illustrated, are not. The immediately evident damage of chips missing was somewhat reinforced after washing, revealing the puzzle of how the wholly cracked gear has lasted so long. Do members know of suppliers of gear trains, or is this a search through someone's stock of mag engine crankcases? |
