Pretty well all automotive tapers for steering, suspension etc. come out at 1.5" per foot. There are reamers available with this taper, but they are very expensive and usually a lot larger than the sort of size that we would use. I have machined a lot of tapers using home made taper D bits. These are machined with the corrrect taper using a small chunk of Silver Steel which is then hardened and tempered. Once the small diameter has been drilled through, the taper D bit is run through at low speed using a drill press. A photo of one I made earlier should be pretty much self explanatory.
