I would say that the Brooklands is the result of the success of the 1923 200 mile race car.
I'm not sure which chassis was used for the car ECGE is sitting in at Montlhery so can't quite answer part 2.

Edited to add; there is a suggestion that this is one of the first batch of five cars of the Brooklands type, retained by GE and rebodied for the 1924 JCC 200. So, since the later Brooklands supersports were of somewhat heavier construction than the first batch I suppose you might describe it as derived from a pre production Brooklands. Assuming that what I have read is correct!
