The number on the tram ticket presumably refers to the Austin Publication number; 461 probably dates from late 1924 or early 1925.

Mike is correct, it is Publication 461 (the ticket says 'Pub 461'). From what I can see the Brochure is undated, but 460 (just about to be added to the web site) is dated 1st January 1925. so I would expect 461 to be 1925 as well - though there is not always total correlation between Brochure numbers and the date they are published....

I also remember these Birmingham  trams; mother took us along the Pershore Road in the early '50s, most Thursdays to visit her father.  We would travel upstairs and I'm sure we could look down at the driver. Could we?
