Rear spring u bolts
#1
Looking at my 1938 Ruby special I realised that both rear spring U bolts are broken with the outer leg missing, as can be seen on the photo with the light shining up through the hole. My question is once having got new U bolts is it possible to fit them without having to dismantle the whole back end. Pete

Assuming that you've got the same access slot over the chassis for the other side, it should be a simple job to drop the new 'U' bolts in through the holes and then bolt them up from underneath. I would check the tightness of the spring locating bolts while you're at it (they are the ones just forward of the U bolts) and which are also tightened from underneath.

Thanks that's what I hoped was the case 40+ years since I built it and the memory not what it was. Pete

Where are you getting your new rear spring U bolts from? As I need some for my opal project.
