NIPPY/65 WHEEL ARCH.
#1
Hi all, maybe a dumb question but, Why do the wheel arches on these 7s vary so much, particularly the front, which seems to be very high even historically from the factory. The Nippy / 65 look so much better from a side view with less wheel on display. anyone achieved a little less on their cars.
My own car is not bad probably factory high but would like less on the front.
Stay Safe, shouldn't be long now before we can get back to socialising again.
Regards Rob.

The 65 which I had a few years ago (DG 7171) looked like that because the front spring was flat rather than with negative camber. It had been changed at sometime and looked wrong in my opinion.

I've just finished reconstructing the wired edges on mine where the tyres have worn completely through them. Better a tad too high in my opinion!

As Lance states the aspect of the car is very dependant on the set of the front springs.
I'm happy with my 65!

So all down to spring Neg/Pos then, some are very high. although can see what you are saying Chris.

    less would be better

I should have said " spring " in the singular!
Your exhaust system is looking low...and vulnerable, rpm.

going back to Austin idealised drawing, how does front crest sit with rear apex?
They want to be the same (otherwise it will look the same as so many ulsteroids that appear to slope backwards on the road because the back of the cockpit is lower than the front)

That's True Jon, I have seen a few that way, and that's not a good look either. A good sitting car stands out immediately.
Hey Chris, I'm hoping to address the exhaust downpipe in the new year, I currently have a horrible Flexi pipe.

The Blockley tyres are also a slightly smaller dia than other 350 x 19 tyres.
Having said that I like the Blockleys and although they don't have a great deal of tread they areĀ
good value IMHO
