Is this another item Austin's changed? The car I refer to was a March 1932 RN.

interesting also to find this 1928 pic (of no relevance to this thread) - I'd have presumed rubber mats but lo and behold edged carpets.

My early Nicholson suggests that when the carpet wears through on exposed bolt heads you "Should get one of your womenfolk to hem them round - buttonhole them- with string" !
He says that "even a man" can repair the leather edging or heel piece if it becomes unstitched.

Unfortunately they don’t make womenfolk
like that anymore though....
