mats or carpets in 1932 austin7 - buzz321hawks - 09-12-2017 I have just bought a 1932 Austin7 RN and would like to have some covering on the floor. Are carpets or mats best and where Would I get them from. Also any recommendations for a workshop manual. RE: mats or carpets in 1932 austin7 - Jack in the Box - 09-12-2017 Welcome to the world of Austin 7's. As an RN owner, I believe that they were originally fitted with rubber mats rather than carpet. Ours hasĀ and we get on with them fine. Ultimately, it's your car and you can decide what suits you. Regarding a workshop manual, I recommend "Woodrow". They can still be bought new. Also Tony Betts posted that he had one for sale this week. Good luck. Alan RE: mats or carpets in 1932 austin7 - Jeff Taylor - 09-12-2017 As suggested above by Alan, Tony Betts of 7 County Austins mentioned on the forum the other day that he had a very good S/H copy of Doug Woodrow's - Austin Seven Workshop Manual for sale - contact Tony at: http://www.7ca.co.uk David Cochrane of Austin 7 Components stocks them new - see under his 'Books' section in the link below - part number BT802. Contact David at: http://www.a7c.co.uk/spares.php#nogo RE: mats or carpets in 1932 austin7 - Ian Williams - 09-12-2017 The Seven Workshop stocks rubber mats that will fit your car. RE: mats or carpets in 1932 austin7 - rvdmikej - 12-12-2017 Seven Workshop mats are fine my RN. Good luck. Mike J RE: mats or carpets in 1932 austin7 - buzz321hawks - 08-01-2018 Thanks for the answers. Any advice where to get carpets from. RE: mats or carpets in 1932 austin7 - Austin in the Shed - 08-01-2018 I believe De luxe RN's had rubber mats but the transmission tunnel was covered in in edged carpet,at least mine had but now the front part has rotted/disintegrated away. Have you tried Simon at A7 trimming ? RE: mats or carpets in 1932 austin7 - Jeff Taylor - 08-01-2018 Link to Simon Laxton's 7 Trimming website mentioned by Austin above - scroll down the page and click on 'CARPETS'. https://www.7trimming.co.uk RE: mats or carpets in 1932 austin7 - Dave Mann - 09-01-2018 In 2005 I helped exhume a de lux RN saloon which had been dry stored since 1960, this had a moulded rubber cover over the transmission tunnel. RE: mats or carpets in 1932 austin7 - Austin in the Shed - 09-01-2018 Looks original |
