Can anyone please tell me how to check the Rear Axle ratio without removing and stripping the axle.
I seem to recall reading somewhere how to do this.

Mark a rear tyre where it touches the ground. Push the car through one complete rotation of the wheel while counting how many times, and fractions, the propshaft rotates. The U/J is easiest.
If it's just under 5, you have a 4.9
Most common, 5 1/4 times for a 5.25. Just a bit less for a 5.125. Etc., etc.
