SPLIT PIN HYDRAULIC SHOE HOLD DOWN - Dennis Nicholas - 27-03-2022 If you are retaining the beehive spring and split pin method of holding the shoes against the backplates I would advise not using stainless split pins. I struggled to get a 1/8th inch pin to open out adequately to hold the spring/shoe tight against the backplate, even with spring clamped down. Changed to a mild steel one and easily succeeded. Intend to change to using Girling method with Ford 100E 1200 pins/springs/washers in future........must make progress at moment if going to get to Centenary week. Dennis |
