Another light restoration job - Tony Griffiths - 20-12-2021

And still they turn up. How many more can there be?

Ohhhhh

I’m so tempted, especially as it is in Llandod.

But I just don’t have space….grrrrrrr.

Cheers

AF (steel bodied) Tourer I presume. Last of the Chummy type cars.

Would make an excellent trials car but what a lot of work!

Lick 'o paint Mr Fawlty, one hour.

RE: Another light restoration job - Mike Costigan - 20-12-2021

The steel body makes it a 1931-32 AG.

You could buy a much shinier car that ends up being almost as much work and expense after 12 months.
At least you know what you're getting, and the price is very, very keen

Charles

I'm surprised that, with a V5, it's not already been sold just as a collection of spares.

Yes, wasn't sure whether it's an AG or AF.

Need to look at the transmission tunnel. Like the fictitious "AJ" tourer that never actually existed.... Our December 1933 4 seat tourer was clearly stamped "AH".

The dash has a separate instrument panel, indicating a late-1931/early-1932 car.

I was very tempted, but I couldn't work out of it was SWB or LWB. Then Mrs Jones got 'rona and any likely spare cash from next month turned into a likely deficit so that was the end of that idea.

I'm assuming its SWB with that door shape, despite the steel tub?.
