Advert image sought - Archivist - 30-07-2021 Can anyone help? I have in my mind a period advert which shows a family with a pram (to the right of the image) walking along a pavement being overhauled by a family in a Chummy. I recall the young lad of the family on foot is looking wistfully at the family in the car. Is that an image that rings any bells with you? If so, do you have a copy of it and again, if so, could you let me know where it was published, please? I would like to track down a copy.. many thanks.. Hugh RE: Advert image sought - Chris KC - 30-07-2021 Not this one Hugh? 8b0ed824f351036a4805c30f0583bddc.jpg (Size: 42.56 KB / Downloads: 341) p.s. We watched "Abre Los Ojos" last night, hence I don't put much faith in memory... RE: Advert image sought - Archivist - 30-07-2021 No, not that one Chris, I have that - but thanks for the thought.. The image, I would imagine is from the same series and, perhaps, the same artist. And that is one strange film. After watching that, I would imagine you would doubt anything! Hugh RE: Advert image sought - Chris KC - 30-07-2021 ...and everything! Sorry I couldn't help. RE: Advert image sought - daveg - 30-07-2021 This one? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/333159626541?hash=item4d91dc772d:g:UEUAAOSwuMFUcu~T RE: Advert image sought - Chris KC - 30-07-2021 Oooh, hang on - Pram.JPG (Size: 92.44 KB / Downloads: 304) Darn - beaten by a whisker! https://www.etsy.com/listing/51919652/austin-seven-british-car-1930s RE: Advert image sought - Archivist - 30-07-2021 Bingo!! Now, does anyone have any pointers to where it might have been initially published? (I'm assuming it is an original Austin advert..) tia.. Hugh RE: Advert image sought - Mike Costigan - 30-07-2021 The Ebay and Etsy listings both suggest the reproductions are from an original Maxfield poster; both this and the other picture posted by Chris would appear to be posters rather than adverts. RE: Advert image sought - Malcolm Parker - 30-07-2021 Have you noticed the number plate? RU 412 Are You For One Too RE: Advert image sought - Bob Culver - 03-08-2021 Obviously not aimed at the impecunious plebs like me who ran Sevens in the 60s. |
