Parked alongside the rows of high-end Rover, Alvis, Bentley and Hispano Suiza, the Ruby stands out.

Another fabulous cover and this time they’ve really gone for artistic license! The Pearl looks spot on for proportion, but the saloon looks more like a two door Cambridge!

Hmm! A straight eight Austin Ruby. Presumably two Seven blocks on a common crankcase, so 1494cc and (presumably) 35 bhp which would give a 70mph top end. Now that would impress down at the golf club!

Actually, it was two in-line supercharged twin-cam engines giving a corrected 145 b.h.p. - but don't tell Lord Herbert.... (I've Photoshopped out the bonnet bulges just in case)
