Tony, there is a very nice 750cc bike which might be ideal for an A7 special application and they are probably fairly easily sourced. I'm thinking about the Yamaha XJ 750, from the late 80s, a 3 cyl across the frame air cooled, with shaft drive.

try the XV750

i must admit i like the look of a V twin better.

also if you use the air cooled engine, you dont need that big flat rad. you can go for something much more aerodynamic.
