RE: Speedo threads - Parazine - 01-07-2024

I had the opposite problem, a 3360 instrument, driven from the gearbox at 2240 tpm. I rebuilt the speedo with a 2240 tpm governor from another instrument and it now reads accurately.

Hi All

I think the PA speedo was used in the Chummy (4.99 ratio axle) and also the RN (5.125 ratio axle). The speedo in my Special was way out until I fitted the later axle but now it is surprisingly accurate. I’m not sure of the numbers but they probably correspond to Parazine’s post.

Cheers

Howard

The PA is 2240tpm. Another option would be to put in a gearbox with a speedo drive. I’ve. Got plenty.
