Ignition points - Tiger - 03-05-2019

Hi people
Can anyone help, looking for points for Ruby 1936.
The ones on A7 workshop and other appear incorrect!

I have an idea I may have a Bosch distributor (can’t see any marks)
Any idea where a set can be bought.
Regards
            Tim

Tiger
the Bosch distributor is quite visually different in that it doesn't have the flattened side bit to the distributor cap. Probably not describing very well but you can see the difference in these ebay items. first is bosch and second in an electronic version of the A7 distributor but shows the flattened bit present on the original:

if you have Bosch then you just need to look for spares for Bosch 009. Yu can buy from Austin Seven Reproduction Parts or any VW supplier. I bought a replacement cap for £4:95 couple of weeks ago and some points from a VW supplier at the Practical Classics Show.

If it is a Bosch it'd likley be a 009 as used in VW beetle etc, could you post a photograph, or compare it to similar items on Google or eBay?

Hope this includes a photo.

That's a Lucas DK4A baseplate.

What's the problem with the Seven Workshop points exactly?

We have to make do with what we can get hold of these days and replacement parts are not always perfect, but as far as I'm aware their points fit and work OK.

RE: Ignition points - Tony Press - 03-05-2019

Looks like a standard Lucas DK4  - David Cochrane Austin 7 Components lists points !

Thanks
Both suggested parts appear to fit the spring securing post on the opposite side.
So I don’t see how these could be fitted ?
How ever I may be going BONKERS
WE WILL SEE

Just imagine the 'sprung' bit turned over in the picture and it will be the same as yours!

I presume that in the Seven spirit of old all rejuvenate with an oilstone. It is reckoned unnecessary to remove the pit; just the peak. I run a 1960s car. I think I have replaced the points once in 140,000 miles.
