This is an early CAV distributor - a Ford cap was available which fitted these but is now out of stock…

I have a spare CAV cap, happy to send to you for postage cost from Australia.

Interesting. Were they ever fitted to Sevens? Often found on '20s Morris Minors but never seen one on a Seven. I have had examples and will look to see if I have a cap.

Yes, Chris, they were the standard fit for early coil-engined cars up to around November 1929.

I run a DS3 distributor on one of my cars and use a cap as fitted to the 1958/60 Renault Dauphine, only drawback is they only seem to come in black. I think I use a Vauxhall Viva HC rotar arm but that has to be shortened as it's too long.

I believe the Triunph Spitfire cap fits.
