HI all. This is a question to the body builders
I spent a somewhat frustrating day today trying to determine the correct height of the original factory dash board to the A pillars and the wood screen bottom rail. John Heaths instructions don't give any guidance on the height of the dash in relation to this piece which is critical to everything fitting together (fuel tank to dash and steering column spacing for the bracket as well as the metal screen pillars).
I know that the dash has to have its lip above the level of where the scuttle sheet metal goes but how high?
I can get get the whole lot to work with the dash in the higher or lower configuration.
Is the top of the dash flush with the small upturned lip of the scuttle sheet metal?
This is the dash in the lower position:
And in the higher position:
Which would be the generally accepted Factory position?
Any help with this issue would be most appreciated
Thanks,
Stephen
