What is the best method and product to seal the clamping joint between the CAV dynamo body and the housing/timing gear cover on a magneto engine?

We are all youngsters. I get asked for age validation at the checkout when buying a bottle of wine. I find brandishing my Welsh senior bus pass works perfectly.

They are normally tight and don’t require a seal

Depends on the state of the housing, 90% have a crack radiating from the end of the clamping slot, where they've been overtightened..
If you seal the dynamo in, you'll never get it out again, they can be awkward to extract with no sealer.
Generally, you'll only get a small amount of leakage at that point, just give it a wipe now an again.
