This is the protoype Cup Model - nice spot.
I like the front axle fairing on the 50mph sports.

Thanks for this thread. Duncan, most interesting. Love the photos on page 8, amazed to see photos of my Brooklands on page 7!
Also some good shots of Mrs Jo-Jo without her bonnet on which are useful.

The photo/brochure archives on the ATF are excellent, a valuable resource indeed.

Hi Duncan
A great find! This is an intriguing car and the more photos
Discovered the better. I’ve yet to find a good rear view of this car
or even a clear side shot that shows the profile.
This prototype was the first of 2-3000 Cups I believe,
What a pity he lost so much money in the USA and didnt
forego fabric construction when the writing was on the wall.
GE was the Donald Healey, Colin Chapman and John Cooper of his
Day. Let all us Cup Cyclecaristes raise a glass to his memory!!
Looks like it was a handicap race as the starters flag looks like it’s
coming down to flag off the 2x Austin’s, but those drivers behind aren’t even
In their cars!
Anyone know who the
Other two Austin folk are?

Bill,
I have seen a rear view photo of the prototype but I cannot find it here or on the Archive, it may have been from a private collection that I did not get permission to share?
If I remember I will be in touch.
