When I bought my Chummy 2 or 3 years ago, I had the opportunity to acquire a fully rebuilt mag engine to go with it. The engine looks in lovely order but is minus it ancilliaries. I cant be certain of this but the previous long term owner of the car used the Cambridge Austin 7 guru, Ray Walker to do all his work (his only qualifications in Austin 7 ownership was to polish it) and this engine has all the hall marks of one assembed by Ray.
The engine is available in Cambridge or, with prior arrangement, I could take it to Beaulieu but would only do this as part of a confirmed sale and not on spec by the potential purchaser. I am happy for any inspection prior to sale.
If you have a tired engine or have just had a calamitous event, this could be just what you are looking for and relatively modestly priced at £2000 when compared with the cost of a rebuild nowadays. After 3 years of owning the Chummy, I have confidence in the current engine so would be happy to pass this on so that someone else can make good use of it..
