Maybe one should only count the parts given their own part number. That way, a speedo for example only counts as one. What I do know is there were more parts in one door of a 1980s Rolls Royce than in an entire mini.

I originally wondered how many separate (identifiable and otherwise) bits there are in the a Seven. But this has made me thinking about all the parts that needed designing, manufacturing or sourcing and putting together into assemblies. Just for one car.

Yes - when you work on a '30s Rolls it seems more like a watch in terms of intricacy.

That's a lot Colin, and why my Seven cost just £127.00 and not many times more, also I'm quite happy taking the Seven to a supermarket but wouldn't think of taking a Rolls if I could. I'm waiting for someone to count up all the individual bits.
