Josie and Gez UK tour
#31
Thanks John
I put some second hand springs on the rear and Josie is standing a bit tall at the back so the 2nd engine should relax the springs a bit.
As there is only me traveling with Josie I think we should be ok. Weight wise!
Lots of spares and nik naks for the trip.
Unfortunately we won't be at Beaulieu on the 2nd July as we start our adventure on the 3rd and I would like to make sure everything is good.

He posted a photo of the engine out, at the side of the road.

Does anyone know what happened? My messages have not reached him…

He’s responded to me now to say there was a big crack in the crankcase - he drove over Tower Bridge at 3:15 am and is now in Southend!

So we now have a knackered engine in the back of Josie. We are in Kings Lynn is there anywhere near I can drop it off and pick it up next month?
Also Josie has 2 broken exhaust manifold studs broken so she sounds like a tractor! Again can anyone recommend a repair place?

Bad luck Gez. I have alerted David Charles at the Norfolk Club to see if he knows who can help. Can you post or pm me your phone number?

I was going to head back to A7 workshop at North Walsham and see what I can do.

Hopefully Gez and Josie have reached Lands  End tonight and onward to his accommodation at Nancegollen East of Penzance.
Three cars met him at the Devon/Cornwall border and shepherd him down county to Goonhavern Garden Centre in mid Cornwall where I handed him over to the west Cornwall members of CA7C. They were taking him forward to Lands End and beyond.
The run was somewhat blighted by Gez suffering multiple fuel blockage problems on this stage (possibly caused by dirty donated E5 petrol) which has hopefully resolved itself.
Repeated unblocking of jets on the side of the A30 was no fun for him in today's rain.
Have a better day tomorrow Gez.

He’s only gone and done it! 5000 miles around the coast!

Well done, Gez!
