My Austin has now stood still for two years after an accident. It has now been repaired and a new gearbox installed. The speedometer now reads completely wrong. The Speedometer Wire rotates. What could that be?
Is it the gearbox output or does a speedometer just break like that?

Would be happy for a tip.

Do you have a three speed or 4 speed gearbox? and what speedo? the speedo worm ratio in your 'new' gearbox is probably different to the 'old' gearbox
