Hi I'm finding that I have a positive reading on my ammeter when I'm on a tickover but if I accelerate, however fast, my charge disappears to zero. Does this just mean that the cutout is doing its job or is there possibly a problem with the dynamo or the cutout? The ammeter works in that it shows a big discharge when I use lights, indicators etc. Any suggestions please? Richard

Hi Tim
RP box saloon
3 brush dynamo with a cut out and fuses
I will check about ignition light but I'm fairly certain it goes out once running
I've had the car since 2006 and the charge has been ok up to now.
I'm going to take the dash out and check the wiring later today.
Regards Richard

It seems to be sorted. The 3rd brush wasn't making a good contact. Thanks for the advice.
