Hello Tony,
Really lovely... a good start into a Grey and misty morning here in Germany. Where was this originally published and do you you know when it was published? Kind regards Frank

I think Tony may have been playing, either that or the man is standing in a large pothole...
Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think!

The production company credit is a clue... But regardless, it is a delightful image.. Very clever!!

Hello Frank, it's just a bit of a composite made up for fun on a rainy afternoon. My "disclaimer" is bottom right. Here's the original, just pinched from eBay.

It’s the partly indistinct image, the merging of his trousers into her dress and the disappearance of his shoes into a puddle that makes the picture straight from the impressionist period.
Or do I need to put my glasses on?

The original artist was Howard Chandler Christy, a well known American war artist who later specialised in portraying American women from all walks of life. He did however favour those who were elegant and confident, as the lady in the painting depicts. The mechanic illustrates the work he undertook from factories etc.

Yes, it is lovely. It conveys all the necessary detail; it's lively, colourful and captures that fleeting moment.

Hello Tony,
Lovely work... It really made a good start into a rather grey day. Long, long time ago I created a calendar with Austin Sevens and some beautiful ladies that had obviously forgotten to dress properly... Perfectly arranged and digitally manipulated and hard to recognize but when we thought about publishing it, we realized that there might be some legal issues.... I will follow your example and go for women with flowers. Regards Frank
