Damn it, if I was not about to set off to Great Whitley, I be be heading East in the direction of Hampstead. Some of us are a bit worried about instructions to be handed out this morning, Will organiser Nicholas announce at a lunch stop that all the first half of the event was a complicated April Fools joke?

Brilliant! A brand new 1957 Plymouth was buried in a concrete box in America and opened up 50 years later...sadly the water got in....
Watch out going into London in a car more than 3 years old.
Unless you pay £12.50 A DAY, you will get issued with a hefty fine from the ULEZ Police. London - it would appear - is being ruined by a mad Muslim. Don't blame me I didn't vote for him.

And that’s NOT an April fool, I used to travel into London every month to support a number of London based charities...I can no longer do that as I will not even attempt to carry all my gear in on the train.

Who can remember "In Town Tonight. Once more we stop the mighty roar of London's traffic" Not any longer, I'm afraid. My son works there and says all his colleagues are fed up to the back teeth with all petty restrictions, 20 mph speed limits, cameras and other assorted horrors. Meanwhile, the socialist mayor rides around in a 5-ton armoured Range Rover (at least Red Ken used to take tube).

On a more sombre note, when Trinity Church in the centre of Nottingham was demolished in 1958, the occupants of the churchyard were moved. One particular Victorian coffin was opened to reveal the perfectly preserved body of a young lady with long blonde hair. Within minutes, with exposure to the air, all the hair disintegrated. One does wonder what state of preservation a car in an air tight container would be. (01-04-2023, 10:21 AM)Ray White Wrote: Watch out going into London in a car more than 3 years old. My Austin 7 is exempt from emission charges in London, as are all pre-73 cars, so Tony’s Hampstead TT won’t get charged on unveiling. Not sure what the mayor’s religion has to do with it though. Charles. PS. Just checked. My son’s 17 year old Ford Fiesta is ULEZ exempt too |
