The M-Type Midget had a more rounded underside to the tail; the wings look like they could be Austin Seven, so presumably one of the pointed-tail coachbuilt versions? The GN registrations began in December 1930 at which time there weren't that many versions; it's obviously not a Swallow or a Gordon England Stadium, and I don't think Arrow built a tail like that...

The tail is also similar to a Mulliner Sports, but the wings and hood are totally different.

Yes, that is what I was thinking of when I made the MG comment above, my lack of knowledge for that marque is glaringly obvious.
The chap who skinned my Cup had one in at the same time - but I did not know it was a Minor, clearly.

Chris Lambert of the Pre War Minor Register has confirmed the car is not a Semi Sports.
