Unusual Austin for sale?
#1
Spotted this picture on a dealer's site I haven't visited for years.  The reg would put it about May 1930?

A boat tail two seater, about to be named the latest Spanish prototype!

ooh - a targa top! With interesting metalwork at the back corners. I wonder what the car number is - perhaps an easy one to cross check but if its got an original UK plate then probably not a Spanish prototype?

Spanish or not, it is reasonably goodlooking from most angles?  The rear 'window' is perhaps set a bit low for anyone tall?

My comment was very much “tongue in cheek”, based on the recent trend to claim that one-off coupes coming out of Spain are “prototypes” rather than locally crafted efforts.

The car is a Boat Tail two seater, with a home made hard top fitted.

Swallow two-seaters sometimes have a removable roof a bit like this, which appeared to be useful and practical.

It would be interesting to see what has been done with the doors on this one?

from the back - is that factory? Looks more like an aftermarket addition.

The back window makes it look very homemade - even if some of the rest of it looks better built. Closer examination might reveal if it has been cobbled together from something else available commercially or is a one-off?
