Interesting. I have always pronounced it as 'Rory', but the video suggests it is more 'Reury. Which do you prefer, Ruairidh?'

In Bristol they say, Roary.
In Glasgow they say, Rury. In the very north of the Highlands they say, Vhairi. Take you pick!

It was great to at last meet R and his parents at last at the Anniversary week. Twas on meeting parents that I was given the lesson on how to pronounce R. Mother never did teach me any of the Gaelic she new (or for that matter any French from her mothers side of family).
So good to be by chance sitting, unknowingly, near one daughter in the communal block front area until Tap, tap, tap was uttered and instant recognition immediately. (you will have to search for the lesson on piston fitting to make sense of that). Really could have done with a 2 week celebration with my limited mobility and meeting and chatting with so many. Dennis (pronounced dennis )

It was very nice to meet you too, the girls were delighted by the "tap, tap, tap" story. Very well remembered!
For those who do not know, here is"tap. tap, tap"...: https://youtu.be/h3z-gQwRW5A
