Going off on a bit of a tangent, does anyone know how the length of a flat belt is measured? Inside or outside?

We supply a variety of flat belts (https://store.lathes.co.uk/belts) and the inside length is the way to go; we measure them laid flat and recommend the following method:

"On all systems, set the two pulleys nearly as close together as possible and measure the belt length as follows. Use either a non-stretch fabric dressmaker's tape or a long strip of paper that can be wrapped around the pulleys, overlapped and marked. Lay the paper flat and measure the length"

Belt Width:
The flat belt can be the full width of the pulley - with one exception, a pulley with side flanges. If flanges are fitted, leave a couple of mm clearance at each side or the belt will try to climb up one of the faces.

Thanks, Very useful.
As part of my ongoing "clearing out rubbish" project I must go and identify the loose ones scattered around (as long as I can find them!).
On another leg of the same project this morning I sorted through about 7 or 8 old containers of mixed nuts and bolts and now have a sizeably replenished stock of decent BSF fasteners - and a very heavy workshop bin.
